CASE REPORTS
#1
A 79-year-old man.
One day after the surgery, he developed a seizure and lost consciousness. He presented with left hemiparesis.
On POD 7, his left hemiparesis persisted. I told him and his family that I expected further neurological recovery. He was now able to touch his nose with his left hand, which he had been unable to do on POD 1. He said, “I was in tears as a young rehabilitation therapist, about the same age as my niece, guided me through my rehabilitation.”
- Why did he develop left hemiparesis after surgery?
