I was the supervising assistant. A junior doctor was the primary operator. He mentioned that he had only assisted it 3 times before and never had operated.
POD 2
A head MRI revealed no DWI hyperintensity, meaning there was no fresh cerebral infarction caused by the procedure. He called to tell me that a cervical MRA showed stenosis in the carotid artery where the stent had been deployed. I replied, “a stented carotid artery cannot be visualized properly on an MRA.” He said, “I see.” I wondered what he had actually seen on the images at his previous hospital. He performed the procedure without any complications and I hoped he felt proud of his work.
